Today was the beginning.
The beginning of a new adventure. The beginning of new friendships. The beginning of new passions. The beginning of new learning. The beginning of new skills. First thing this morning we headed out to the ocean to snorkel as the sun rose. My buddy was Kim, and we swam with Trisha most of the time, which was great because she has experience and could answer any questions we had. As Tia would say, we were "slapped with majesticness" this morning. We saw cow head sting rays, spotted eagle rays, green sea turtles, a lemon shark and tons of beautifully colored fish! During our first lab, my partner and I struggled to stick a stake into the ground so we could measure out 15 meters, and our solution was to have Tia (my partner) hold me under water while I attempted to bury the stake into the ground. We laughed a lot and and learned even more! The food, is a plenty, and is amazing! The sunrises and sunsets are truly indescribable. I look forward to more laughs, more learning and more adventures here on Heron Island!
