Today Started off in Gladstone, a small suburban city on the coast of Australia. From Gladstone the group boarded a fairy and headed to Heron island. The fairy ride was two hours of beautiful blue sea Before we reached Heron. From the fairy we could see other small islands and tons of flying fish right up next to our boat. Once to shore, we where brought the Heron Island Research station, were we will be calling home for the next twelves days. After getting settle, a group of us headed down the beach to explore the island. Along the rocks and sand we saw many animals such as, Swift-footed Crabs and Shovelnose Rays. Then we headed back to join the rest of the group and get in the water. While snorkeling we were able to see many different rays and sea turtles, even a grouper under the dock. Today was an awesome day, We had a lot of laughs and got to see some amazing wildlife.
