We started the day by getting on the ferry to Heron Island, on the way over I saw a flying fish! We passed a few islands and reefs on the way to Heron Island, It was cool to see the water change color as we went over different parts of the reef. Ed and Trisha gave us the run down of what to expect while we are on the Island and I have decided to not touch pretty much anything of the beach or in the ocean unless specifically directed to. After that I went on a walk around the island with some of my classmates down to the dock and along the beach, we saw a few manta rays and a white tip reef shark. After that we got fitted for our snorkeling gear. With our new gear we went down to the beach and gave snorkeling a shot for the first time, we saw some cowtail rays and I found out later that there was a lemon shark circling the group. We had to get out of the water because the sun was setting and then we got dinner, which was delicious. Cleaning sand out of your snorkel gear is a pain in the butt.
