Today is a day full of mixed emotions! Im excited to get back home here shortly, but im also going to miss the fun of being with the group and the stories we've shared, along with the good laughs that made my cheeks hurt. This has been such an inspiring trip with inspiring people! Right down to Trish and Edd, and also down to all of us who work so hard to be in school and work to survive. I feel so lucky that I was even considered after being out of school for long! When this course was brought up to me it kicked started me in a way that ive been needing for sometime. The motivation to share an experience and study The GBR sounded too good to be true!
I am here now "in da moonlight" and it's incredible how bright it is right now... im fat and happy with dinner in my belly, and I have the munchies...The girls decided it would be funny to put a dead crab in my bed....scared me near to death!!! Now I want to stress eat haha The funny thing is that I would have done the same thing to them too... It has been a really leisurely day for all of us now that we are all done with our presentations. Everyone had great presentations, and I actually learned a lot from them especially when it came from such different personalities. Good job everyone! The day consisted of us playing hide and seek and losing Sienna, stealing Dylan's shoes, and packing! I will miss these guys! Reunion time will have to be in order

I feel like I haven't done much today except fine tune our research project...Last night I had to get my wiggles out and exercise and run around because I've felt so lazy just writing papers, but at least I did swim...yesterday haha BUUTTT today I was able to walk around and let my wiggles out, while getting blasted by the wind! I was able to see an awesome display of sting rays jumping out of the water! It was insane how far out of the water they were able to jump out!
The night ended up with watching the sunset and the colors were absolutely amazing tonight. Sienna and myself attempted to headstand in the sand, but it didnt work so well in my behalf. Camp then decided he would try, and flopped over right onto his back...so funny! Then we had a show from Edd being an elephant seal. Great night...now back to research! Today has been research paper constructing, upon research paper constructing! We've all been working so hard and somewhat dilligent on our papers! It has been super windy for the past couple of days, which is nice for the writing we've had to do, but Kim and I were getting the wiggles and had to get out and walk around the island for a bit. We were halfway around the island to Shark Bay when the wind was really picking up and was sand blasting our uncovered legs. We ended up taking a detour through the jungle of the island and I watched Kim climb a tree in flip flops...impressive!
Shortly after we returned to our computer lab to attempt to finish our paper, but alas we were stopped by the snorkel adventure that was ahead of us! Well worth it! We swam out into the choppy waters and saw some amazing coral structures and coral life today! I wish I could capture the brilliant colors and textures, but it never does it justice...unless I had a really nice camera. Since doing our research project on clams, I kept noticing all the giant clams in the water now, and I have to say they really are one of my favorite things to see in the coral reefs. It was still nice to get out and relieve our wiggles, but it was pretty chilly after getting out of the water with the wind so we hustled our butts back to get dressed into something warmer. This is the first time out of the trip that I had to put pants on! We've been in the computer lab all day listening to music and having a mini dance session to help with the research projects...but we are almost finished...thank god! Love everyone here so much! Can't wait to see everyone's projects they've come up with |
